The Ministry Company
The Mimeistry Company is a touring mime, dance and drama troupe comprised of Apprentice-Journeymen, full Journeymen, and Specialist Journeymen. Created as an extension of Mimeistry’s ministry, The Company represents the organization in ethics, ministry, repertoire, leadership, advertising, and schooling. As such, involvement with The Company requires that a number of specific criteria be met prior to application.
In addition to upholding the purpose of Mimeistry, The Company seeks to help the aspiring Journeyman develop their touring skills, perform-ability, and repertoire, within a supportive environment. Because other company members are also in development, The Mimeistry Company becomes an environment to help each other overcome weaknesses while lending strength and support.
Through the use of mime, pageantry, dance, drama, and other forms of expression to communicate the Good News, The Company performers in churches, theatres, parks, public schools, and other venues. In this way, The Company serves as a bridge from amateur to professional (use of the art), and from part-time to full-time ministry. However, Mimeistry realizes that not all Journeymen are called to full-time ministry in mime or dance. Some may be called to be missionaries, youth workers and pastors, while others are called to be teachers or maybe even another profession. Time spent in The Company enables members to effectively evaluate their call to ministry.
Part of The Company's discipleship includes taking a college level course by correspondence while on tour. They may also receive special training from ministries from across the nation in the form of teachings or devotional times. Participation with The Mimeistry Company involves a 3-9 month commitment. Company members are paid after attaining a high level of achievement, greater responsibility (such as tour leadership), and according to need. Applications may be obtained through the office.
